According to a recent Bloomberg report, Samsung is preparing to launch the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus smartphones in February. Here’s everything we know.
The Australian release of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus could be closer than you think. If Bloomberg’s inside sources can be believed, we’ll be getting the phones sometime in February. By contract, this year’s Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus released in April. Presumably, the emergence of Apple’s iPhone X has prompted Samsung to release a premium competitor ahead of its traditional schedule.
As with previous Galaxy S models, you can expect a cavalcade of useful but minor upgrades compared to the current generation. According to Bloomberg, the main improvement will be an overhauled camera systems but specific details have yet to be shared. The insiders also stressed that Samsung’s rollout plans are “fluid” and could change. Hmm.
As you’d expect, Samsung is refusing to either confirm or deny the alleged release date. We’ll report back as soon as we have anything concrete.
