The shemozzle that has been the Australian Marriage Law Postal Survey is drawing to a close and there’s not long left to ensure you have your say on whether or not same-sex couples should be allowed to marry.
Make sure you post your response.
When Is The Last Day To Post My Vote?
The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) will not accept any survey forms they received after November 7 at 6pm AEDT. Taking into account the nature of the postal system, the ABS recommends that you physically post your vote by Friday, October 27.
Where Can I Post My Response?
Place your vote in the supplied reply-paid envelope and place it in an Australia Post Red Post box or take it into a Post Office. Use Australia Post’s Locator to find either a Post Office or a Red Post Box. There also remains some drop off locations open in Australia’s major cities.
What Happens If I Can’t Post My Vote Today?
If you haven’t voted and you don’t think you will be able to post your vote by end of today, unfortunately there is now little you can do.
Essentially – the survey has ended.
Unfortunately, most alternative options for returning a response closed on October 20, as this was the last day you could request a secure access code. Furthermore, you will not be able to pick up a survey form from a pick-up location.
However, although you can’t request a new secure access code, if you already have one you will be able to send your response via the online response form or via telephone (1800 060 050) until 6pm AEDT November 7. This is also applicable to Australians living overseas who wish to vote.
