Skillsoft has launched CodeX, a new virtual coding practice lab that provides coding exercises with embedded video content. It offers hardware labs for products from Cisco, Microsoft, VMware and CompTIA with tools such as Android Studio 2.3.3, Eclipse, Eclipse Neon, IDLE 3.4, IPython (Anaconda 4.4) and Microsoft Visual Studio.
Learners can follow along with CodeX’s instructional videos while writing and compiling code. They’ll have access to live machines, fully functioning IDEs (integrated development environments), sandboxes and other practice and validation tools.
CodeX delivers usage data, such as how many times the labs are accessed and for how much time, so administrators can analyse how learners are using the labs.
With coding becoming more and more important, finding ways to help staff upskill and develop is becoming more and more important. Tools like CodeX help significantly without putting a bunch of pressure on your IT team to create dev environments.
Skillsoft has a bunch more information on their website.
