Video: Racewalking. It’s like walking, but faster and funnier looking. It’s an Olympic sport, though, so when you do this week’s workout you will be a Serious Athlete.
Christine Prokop, president of the Edmonton Racewalk Club, gives a reporter a crash course in racewalking, and you can follow along. There are a few stretches and technique pointers, and then you can take what you’ve learned out on the road. Racewalkers can move fast, but they keep one foot on the ground at all times.
