Welcome to 2017. We have Trump, President Trumbull and it’s insufferably hot every single goddamn day. Also, people are still buying cars. A lot of them actually. Here are the top selling cars in Australia in 2017 so far…
1. Mazda3 – 3473
2. Toyota Corolla – 2943
3. Toyota HiLux – 2702
4. Ford Ranger – 2622
5. Hyundai i30 – 2018
6. Holden Commodore – 1960
7. Mazda CX-5 – 1924
8. Nissan X-Trail – 1759
9. Hyundai Tucson – 1678
10. Mazda CX-3 – 1486
The Mazda 3 takes it over close rival the Toyota Corolla, the car every middle-aged man tells me to buy when I ask what’s ‘reliable’.
Interestingly, January is being spun as a successful year for sales, with 84,910 cars being sold in one month. The biggest surprise was the growth of the SUV market. Toyata has a market share of 14.8% with Mazda at 11.9% and Holden coming in third with 8.5%.

i find it troubling that people still buy toyotas based on their name. i mean it goes to show they were a juggernaut and had a great product. but from what i understand they’ve been over priced and over rated for years now. lucky for them if that is indeed the case.
Hmmmm….
