Asking about tough topics like workplace equality can be tough during a job interview. You want to do everything you can to make the interview go well, but you also need to know if a company’s culture is right for you. FairyGodboss can help you scope out potential employers through the reviews left by other women who work or have worked at the companies you’re considering.
Each company’s profile includes information on things like the company’s parental leave policy, if on-site childcare is available, and if women and men are treated equally (part of a survey). Of course, larger companies have more reviews, but even if there aren’t many for the company you’re interested in, you can still gain valuable information such as details on how management treats women and if there are many women in leadership positions.
Companies do have the opportunity to “claim” their page (like Johnson & Johnson has), so keep that in mind as well. Reviewers are anonymous, so use your judgement when reading over a profile. But, in general, the reviews and other information on this site can help you get a feel for how a company treats their female employees and if it will be a good fit for your work-life balance.
Although the service is based in the US, many of the featured companies — particularly in the IT space — have similar corporate cultures and policies around the world, including Australia.

Since men and women are equal, since we should never discriminate against women in anything, why do we have women-only things like this? Isn’t that denying the whole point?
Whoah talk about sexist. Not to mention how the service stereotypes women…
Right? If I cared enough I’d be offended.
