Most of us suffer from work-related stress from time to time — it’s part of the human condition. While most instances of stress are manageable, others can seriously affect your overall health and well-being. This comprehensive flowchart breaks down all the things that contribute to stress; from sleeping habits to work deadlines.
The diagram below comes from the UK finance management website Pound Place based on insights from the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. It walks you through common causes of stress in an attempt to find out how manageable your stress levels are.
If you end up in the “Very Stressed” column it might be time to step back and seriously assess your life. On the other hand, if you’re only slightly stressed about one or two issues, there’s no reason to worry. As the accompanying blog post explains: worrying is a form of thinking.
You can find a plethora of fixes for most of these issues in our archives, be it poor sleeping habits, social anxiety or mounting work deadlines: just search for the relevant topic!
