Working out at a gym is good for you, but you share that space with other people. Even if you’ve learned how to use the equipment, you may not have learned how to be considerate of everyone else there to exercise too. This graphic breaks it all down nicely.
Many of the tips below you’ll remember from the video we posted not too long ago by I Am Alpha M on gym etiquette. The graphic includes a couple of extra tips worth mentioning (namely, not doing curls in the squat rack and not hoarding all of the weights just to yourself). You can see the whole thing below, courtesy of the folks at BestGymEquipment.co.uk.

I can’t stand the people that use the gym equipment as luxury armchairs to go an text (not even to work out), listen to music, watch a videos, have a chat to their mates etc.
This goes under ‘don’t be a gym hog’ I guess. But then it’s etiquette to also not cue, so what do you do in this situation? I’ve seen so many do it, they just sit there for up to 30 mins sometimes doing nothing. It happens when the gym is quite empty too, you want to use your next machine and of course the one you want to use has some guy taking a nap on it. Then when you politely break the ice and ask them to use the machine for your next workout, you get death-stares.
Why are you here people?!! You can do all that stuff at any Starbucks without a membership fee!
man we need fancy graphics for common sense now, what is the world coming to?
This is why I joined Crossfit! There are no time wasters there just people who actually want to get fit.
