Lucky this list was in some sort of order so I didn’t have to search the entire list…
Is your f3 key broken?
Listing the suburbs by state with headers would help – Mitcham is a suburb in both Victoria and South Australia for example.
So are Richmond and St Kilda
no, my suburb/town isn’t there. not all of us live in sydney/melbourne/etc. the nearest one isn’t far away but it could have been many options.
also for eg. there is some distance from inverell – tenterfield
yeah i think its broken down in local council areas for most places except for the capital cities
exactly what I was going to say, after F3ing 4 suburbs without any luck I too had to scroll through the entire list.
Note that this data is 2 financial years old, so if you’re comparing to your current wage, you’re doing it wrong. According to the ABS data (through the provided link), wage growth rate is at around 5% per year in most regions.
Also note that this data appears to be compiled from tax returns, and so would probably include part-time, casual and other non-full time employment, as well as younger workers not on adult wages yet (and students who fit all the above criteria). These would have a downward pull upon the average wage (edit: if you intend to use this average to compare to your salary).

Then, wouldnt it be an accurate reflection of average wages across all demographics?
I expressed myself poorly. I meant to say that it might not be the best data to compare to your full-time salary.
This list would have been more useful if it also included the lowest and highest incomes for each area.
standard deviation numbers would be more useful. highest and lowest amounts would be so ridiculously far from the mean (think most areas would have at least 1 person earning basically 0 and 1 earning millions). standard deviation would be a much better indicator of the approx. spread of incomes in the area
For a skewed distribution (like incomes) standard deviation is an essentially useless measure (standard deviation only applies to the Gaussian, or ‘normal’ distribution). The better way of looking at variation is to plot and inspect a histogram of income distrubution.

My city despite being the 2nd largest in SA is not on the list.
Median salary is the much more important figure. Average salary includes the mega wealthy with skews the figures. Median figure would probably be about $10000 less in some suburbs, and the poorer suburbs won’t make a big change to the figure
Wow. Broadmeadows residents earn a lot being on the dole!
I live in Hervey Bay but work from home for a company in Pittwater. Got it made 🙂
