If you have an iPhone 8 that seems to be having trouble, it might need a new logic board. Late last week, Apple revealed that faulty logic boards may have been causing random restarts, screen freezes, and defective startup initiations that prevent the iPhone 8 from turning on properly. If these issues sound like something you’re dealing with, you can get your phone repaired for free.

As the speculation goes, Apple is allegedly considering bumping up the default charger for the iPhone 9 or iPhone X2: From 5W to 18W.”]
The affected units were purchased between September 2017 and March 2018 in Australia, New Zealand, the US, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan and Macau.
The recall only involves the iPhone 8, so if you purchased another model then this doesn’t apply to you, even if you’re having the same problems and purchased your phone at the same time.
To see if your phone qualifies, you just need to input its serial number here. Your serial number is printed on the back of your device in super tiny print. You can also find it by going into the Settings menu and then selecting General followed by About.
If your phone is one of the chosen ones, you can get it repaired by making an appointment at your local Apple Retail Store or an Apple Authorised Service Provider.
