Where To Watch The Samsung Galaxy S9 Announcement

Where To Watch The Samsung Galaxy S9 Announcement

On February 26, Samsung is scheduled to announce the Samsung Galaxy S9 along with the S9+, successors to the S8 and S8+. If you’re in the market for a new Android smartphone, and want one with an actual headphone jack, you should take a peek at what’s coming down the pike. It will also help you decide whether or not you want to sell your old phone to pay for it. Here’s where to watch in real time.

Samsung’s Own Site

Samsung itself is promoting the S9 announcement on its own site. You can sign up using your email address to get a reminder of the event or just remember to show up to the Galaxy UNPACKED page at February 26, 4:00AM AEDT. Do yourself a favour, and unsubscribe after the announcement if you go the email route.

Samsung’s YouTube Channel

You also have the option of keeping your inbox clean and watching the livestream on Samsung’s YouTube channel, where you can stream it on your hilariously outdated smartphone from 2017 or using a Chromecast hooked up to a TV.

What You’re (Probably) Getting in the Galaxy S9

If you’re dying to know everything you can about the S9 before it launches, you can take a peek at Gizmodo‘s list of the most credible leaks and rumours about the smartphone. In terms of looks, the S9 will be pretty identical to the S8 and S8+, with some minor rearranging of the rear camera and fingerprint sensor. Both will have the same screen size as their predecessor, along with a rating of IP68 for water and dust resistance.

What You Should Do Before It Drops

If you want to make the most of your current smartphone, consider selling it instead of stuffing it in your drawer. Specifically, consider selling it before Samsung announces the S9 and drives an increasing number of people to put their own smartphones on the market. It’s easy to do yourself, and if you’re that averse to the idea of photographing, shipping, and charging someone for your smartphone, just mail it in to companies that will do the heavy lifting for you. The rumoured pre-order date of March 1 is just over a week away, with the phones rumoured to ship by March 16. In the meantime, you can always use some old smartphone you haven’t sold while you wait for your new S9. Alternatively, it could be a perfect time to experiment with an old flip phone for a while, no?
