Perhaps the best tip, though, is to choose just two colours: a base colour and an accent colour, instead of trying to add five or six colours in addition to the neutrals, as in the colour palettes above. The reason why you only need to pick two colours is you’re probably going to be using two or three neutral colours for your site already: white, dark grey and perhaps light grey. Keep it simple.
