Reader Saifali has submitted desktops in the past to our Desktop Showcase, but this one’s a fresh look, and we like it. If you dig it too — or just the Antarctic landscape in it — here’s how you can bring the same look to your computer.
Saifali is using Rainmeter to get this look, and we’ve just updated our guide to customising your Windows PC with Rainmeter if you’re interested in trying it out yourself. It’s a great primer that will help you learn the ins and outs of the app, and start building a desktop you can share with us!
Once you have that down, here’s what you’ll need:
- The Antarctica Google Earth View wallpaper
- The Rainmeter system tweaking and monitoring tool for Windows
- The Enigma suite for Rainmeter for the Now Playing widget, calendar widget, and weather widgets
- The Aperture Labs Information Signs skin for the clock and date display in the center
That’s all there is to this one – not a lot of moving parts, but a really good look regardless. If you dig it, or have questions about it, head over to Saifali’s Kinja blog (linked below) and ask away. Sing your praises while you’re at it!
