Today, Coca-Cola launched Coca-Cola No Sugar in Australia – a new diet version of its popular soft drink that purports to taste much better than Coke Zero. We’ll be the judge of that.
After five years of experimentation and research, Coca-Cola is replacing Coke Zero with an all new formula dubbed Coca-Cola No Sugar. Earlier in the day, we pitched the two products against each other in a blind taste test to determine which formula is superior. Watch the video above to see our verdict!

Long Live ‘Coca-Cola No Sugar’” excerpt=”In a bid to entice sugar spurning customers back into the soft drink fold, Coca-Cola is replacing Coke Zero with a completely new formula. The rebranded ‘Coca-Cola No Sugar’ purports to have a taste profile that’s nearly indistinguishable from the “real thing”. Here are the details.”]

What’s the point of comparing to Coke Zero? It’s phasing out anyway. You need to blind test real Coke vs new Coke!
Came here to say exactly that. They have said themselves that it will taste closer to normal Coke so why are we comparing it to Zero?
They’re comparing it to Coke Zero because they want it to replace Coke Zero. They know regular Coke drinkers won’t be anymore interested in No Sugar than they were in Zero.
The point is to determine whether Coca-Cola No Sugar tastes better than Coke Zero. As New BBQ Shapes proved, the replacement isn’t always an improvement!
Fair enough, good answer.
Thanks, now I am actually looking forward to trying it 🙂
Tried some on the weekend. It is an acceptable alternative to coke zero such that I wouldn’t miss zero if I had only this.
It is closer to the original coke but not quite there, it’s definately less sweet than original coke and doesn’t have the same texture.
Also it didn’t seem to have the horrible after taste I usually get with zero but I would need to try it again to confirm.
My test wasn’t blind, but I couldn’t tell the difference.
More importantly, what do we call it? “I’ll have a Coca Cola No Sugar, please” is a bit of a mouthful. “Coke Zero” was nice and short.
Why are the people who are sensitive to the real Coca Cola drinking an alternative liquid with a Coca Cola name on the container.
The truth is that USA Coca Cola has a different sugar than New Zealand bottled Coca Cola, and is different again to Mexican bottled Coca Cola, and in reality fructose, glucose, sucrose and lactose are sugar varieties found in most all food and drinks, even in milk.
The fanatics who are frightened of Coke, The Real Thing would have to drink 10 lires 24/7 to be affected by the sugar content, so they should eat only lettuce and drink water to stay away from consuming sugar and the ‘white, sweet, calorie-dense stuff’ never was an ingredient of original Coca Cola.
“The fanatics who are frightened of Coke, The Real Thing would have to drink 10 lires 24/7 to be affected by the sugar content”
That is simply incorrect. Have you heard of diabetes?
“the ‘white, sweet, calorie-dense stuff’ never was an ingredient of original Coca Cola.”
Sugar has always been part of original Coca Coka. For decades. Diet Coke was introduced in 1982.
Sorry but as an avid zero drinker the new one tastes like crap. May have to go to Pepsi max.
The new one does taste more like regular Coke than Coke Zero did but it also adds a bit of the aftertaste that you get with Diet Coke (which I hate), but not as strong. Just my opinion
