Slack has brought in some new improvements and bug fixes in the latest round of updates for its cloud-based team collaboration tool. Here’s what you need to know.
Slack had released version 2.0.2. of its Windows app for desktops which contained the most changes and then quickly brought in version 2.0.3. to address some minor usability bugs.
Here’s what’s new for Slack for Windows desktop:
- Signed into a smorgasbord of teams? We’ll pay attention to which ones you use the most, and load those first when the app is started. A minor courtesy.
- If you find yourself wedged between a rock and a hard place (or, a bug and our app) we offer you an escape hatch: Help > Reset App Data wipes the slate clean.
Here’s what has been fixed:
- Fixed a bug that caused Context menus to disappear for some users.
- Sorted out most of the issues that caused the app to crash.
- Downloaded files of the same name will no longer overwrite each other.
- If snapped to the left or right of your screen, Slack reset position when restarted. This has been fixed now.
- The crude white border that would appear around the app the next time it was launched (if you had been zoomed) has been removed.
- Further improvements to prevent false detection by antivirus vendors.
- Rectified Windows 10 notification issues.
You can download the updated app over at Slack’s website.
