The day Panasonic stopped making plasma TVs — truly a sad day.
But they still continue to make good televisions in general. And if you’re looking for a high-end 4k, you could do a helluva lot worse than the TH65CX800A, Panasonic’s high-end 65-inch behemoth. It might be one of the best TVs on the market, and it’s currently on sale for less than $3000.
Just as a heads up — you could probably buy a cheaper 4k TV. They are out there. But they won’t be as good as this one. The Panasonic TH65CX800A has an RRP of $6199 and you might get it for $4500 if you’re lucky. This is a topline Panasonic Model.
Getting it at $2997 is pretty ridiculous. Seriously considering an upgrade here.

No mention of Gigabit Ethernet, Meh.! call me when it comes down to my financial sweet spot at $1000 to $1500.
Good idea. And when that happens there will actually be content to watch in 4k!
It does have gigabit Ethernet. See here http://www.goodgearguide.com.au/review/panasonic/viera_th-p65vt30a/404615/
Cons
Free to air TV doesn’t look great
Black performance isn’t perfect
Yeah Pass.! 🙂
Purchased one of these a little over 12 months ago for $3200 when the Aussie dollar was strong. I eventually had to return it because it bad screen uniformity. That was a nightmare in itself, let alone the banding and clouding issues. Panasonic said it was inherent of the current technology. At a price a little under $3000…no thanks!
