Our pets are at our mercy, so it’s up to us to make sure they’re safe. This can be tough sometimes, because a lot of seemingly harmless everyday foods can be toxic to our animals. This infographic lays out some of the most dangerous foods for dogs and what issues they can cause.

Your best bet is probably to assume that any human food has the potential to be hazardous to your pet, but this graphic is a handy guide for the most common foods they might encounter. For example, grapes seem harmless enough, and your dog might scarf them right up. Unfortunately, they can cause acute kidney failure in dogs (and so can raisins).
If you’re looking for a full list of foods, plants, medicines and more that are poison to pets, check out this database via the Pet Poison hotline. We’ve also listed some of them here. In the meantime, this graphic offers the most common of these foods.

ok, I can understand some of these (we want to give our pets treats), but WHY THE FUCK would you give your dog medications?
Our dearly departed greyhound once ate a small piece of onion that had fallen on the floor and, once he found a suitable carpet, threw up his entire dinner. We cleaned it up, fed him again, and then he went and found another piece of onion…
Bless him, we never loved him for his brains.
@bigtbafe I think it’s more along the lines if your dog has accidentally swallowed them not that people are deliberately giving their dog human medications.
Grapes? That’s weird. We used to throw grapes for our Cavalier King Charles to catch and eat. We did it for years and didn’t notice any issues.
Pretty sure he ended up dying of heart failure.
