- AWS’ CloudTrail integration into CloudWatch logs, which launched in the US last year, has now reached the Sydney and Singapore data centres. Amazon has also added a new CloudFormation template to make creating tracking alarms easier.
- The long-trialled Azure Search kit for developers has hit general availability. One notable new feature in the release version: a .Net software development kit.
- Also hitting GA soon: DocumentDB, which will become generally available April 8. That has been in trials since August last year.
- Google Cloud Pub/Sub, a high-volume messaging platform for inter-app communication, has been released in beta. The service claims support for up to one million messages per second (early testers include the developers of Snapchat).
- The AWS Management Portal for vCenter has been updated to include automatic upgrade prompts, easier log uploads and other tweaks. The updated version is available for download to install within vCenter.
- Amazon Cognito has updated with options to track events using Kinesis streams and store event information in Redshift. At the same time, Kinesis has also been updated to reduce propagation delays.
- Azure has two new compute-intensive instance sizes: A10 and A11. Neither supports remote direct memory access (RDMA), but that makes them cheaper than the previous A8 and A9 instances. While the announcement post doesn’t specify the Australian data centre as an option, pricing for the region has been listed on Microsoft’s site.
- Google Cloud Debugger has a new option to track Google Compute Engine projects using a single line of code.
