The latest updates and additions for Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform.

- Proof that Microsoft really wants everyone to sign up for Azure services: you can now use Enterprise Mobility Suite, which includes Azure AD Premium, without having a full enterprise agreement. Azure AD Premium has also added support for attribute-based dynamic group membership.
- AWS CloudTrail has added the ability to look up API activity via multiple sources, including the AWS SDK, CloudTrail Console and command line interface. Previously, CloudTrail had only logged activity in an S3 bucket.
- Sometimes the simple debugging fixes are the best. The AWS IAM console now has a validate policy button which identifies the line in your code where a syntax error occurs — much more helpful than just seeing the app crash.
- Amazon CloudFront has added the ability to secure content using signed HTTP cookies — useful if you want to block access to multiple objects rather than just specific URLs.
- Azure Site Recovery now offers email notifications, which you can configure to automatically receive notifications for events such as connectivity issues or recovery failures.
- Something we reported more fully earlier in the week: Google Cloud Storage Nearline, its competitor to Amazon Glacier. Cheap storage, anyone?
- Also in the Lifehacker headlines this week: IBM’s late but welcome opening of its SoftLayer data centre in Sydney.
