The Raspberry Pi 2 was released yesterday and it comes packed with a new SoC that requires a little tweaking to get operating systems to work with it. We decided to dig in and see what operating systems have added support already.
So far, a few of the big operating systems are working with the Pi 2. Here’s what works:
- Raspbian
- OpenELEC
- OSMC (previously Raspbmc, which will not support the Pi 2)
- Snappy Ubuntu Core
- Debian Jessie
That’s it for now, but over the next few weeks and months there are bound to be updates. For those wondering, RetroPie’s update is hopefully on the way soon and that Windows 10 IoT version is still in the works.
