- Azure Active Directory already offers the ability to manage shared social networking accounts on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn — useful for shared corporate resources. That feature is now even more secure, since you can enable automatic changing of the passwords on a fixed schedule. (You have to be using AD Premium for the new rollover option to appear.)
- Google Cloud Platform is beta testing Google Cloud Security Scanner, which scans App Engine apps for cross-site scripting (XSS) and mixed content vulnerabilities. That’s not going to identify every potential vulnerability, but it’s a handy start.
- Watch out, there’s a new AWS certification in town. The DevOps Engineer certification, which was previewed last year, is now officially available, with the “final” exam made public.
- The latest tweak to AWS’ tag management features is the ability to search for resources that don’t have a specific tag. Useful if you want to enforce a consistent tagging policy.
- The AWS Security Token Service is now available across every AWS region, including Sydney.
- Azure’s Mobile Services Android SDK has hit beta version 2.02, adding improved offline support and a new “soft delete” feature.
- As we reported earlier in the week, Azure is now offering a Linux version of HDInsight.
- The AWS EC2 Container Service (ECS) has added the ability to authenticate with Docker registries and mount volumes in containers.
Cloud Patches rounds up new features and services added to major cloud computing platforms each week..
