iOS 8: Information can be the critical difference between proper care and wasting time in an emergency. Apple’s Health app in iOS 8 can display your emergency medical information and emergency contacts to better inform first responders or anyone else on the scene of a medical emergency.
To get started, open the Health app in iOS 8. Tap the Medical ID menu in the bottom right, and select “Create Medical ID”. Check the “Show When Locked” function. Fill out the corresponding information, including Allergies, Reactions, Blood Type and Emergency Contact. Now, first responders or friends can view your Medical ID by swiping the lock screen, and tapping “Emergency”.
Even if you don’t have iOS 8, you can still add emergency contact information to your phone’s lock screen with a wallpaper.

It really bugs me that apple add functionality they should have added 8 years ago, but hide it in a place no one would really look for it, it really should be a click here for emergency contact/information not in the bottom corner of the mostly pointless emergency keypad which only has 2 valid numbers in Aus 000 and 121 which i presume are really the same thing.
121 now just redirects to 000 here.
But yes it should be a bit more intuitive. There used to be the good ol ICE contact you’d make in your phone book that’s completely useless if the phones locked.
Thats what i meant (121 to 000), i believe 121 redirects to the standard emergency number wherever you are.
Yeah and the wallpaper isn’t the best substitute, as a lot of people wont even answer the phone if they don’t know who they are, so calling an ICE from the specific persons phone is an advantage.
They need to have a way to make it not so obscure, but not make it easy for your baby to start calling your ICE numbers while playing with your phone (she already locked mine for a few minutes by entering too many invalid pass codes, thankfully i didn’t enable the erase option)
