We’re nearing the end of the Lifehacker Awards 2014! This morning, we’re unveiling the best note-taking software.
Readers’ Choice: Evernote
Perennial favourite Evernote took the crown, but only won by a handful of votes — OneNote was also a very strong contender. As we’ve pointed out before, both are solid choices.
Editor’s Pick: OneNote
Given the closeness of that vote, I’ll happily give my vote to OneNote — an often-forgotten but extremely useful element of Microsoft’s Office suite. Plus, you can use it for free.
Thanks everyone for voting! Keep checking back throughout the week for more winners.

One response to “Lifehacker Awards 2014: Best Note-Taking Software”
I gave OneNote an extended run but eventually went with Evernote. While OneNote and Evernote both had the functionality I was looking for, I found both the OneNote Windows desktop client and Android app (on a Nexus 5) to have a delay when navigating/changing notebooks etc whereas Evernote was much quicker.
Also found it strange that formatting would often be messed up when copying/pasting between OneNote and Word.
Web-clipping with Evernote is brilliant.

Think you forgot the name of the software there……
I’m still thinking about both: One Note comes with my employer-provided Office suite, so easy to get to; but I prefer the Evernote interface, plus it has more depth of capabiltiy, I think, particularly from my ipad.
