iOS 7.1 is a very bright operating system. It has a lot of white going on and looking at your phone at night can be blinding. If simply turning down the brightness isn’t enough, Cult of Mac outlines a couple of settings that help you tone down the visuals in iOS.
Reducing the whiteness in iOS is fairly easy. Here are the settings you want to toggle:
- Contrast: Head into Settings > General > Accessibility and find “Increase Contrast”.
- Toggle “Darken Colours” and “Reduce White Point” to on.
At first, you probably won’t notice a difference, but both settings subtly change the brightness in iOS. If you want a more pronounced effect, inverting the colours will do the trick.
