Mobile device management is definitely the most comprehensive solution to the management and security woes of the bring-your-own-device (BYOD) era, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy to do. New research from Telsyte suggests that just 24 per cent of companies have MDM software installed and processes in place.

A survey of 460 Australian IT managers and CIOs by Telsyte found that only a quarter had installed any MDM software. The most popular choice was BlackBerry, followed by AirWatch, MobileIron, Good Technology and SAP, but there’s no dominant provider.
At the other end of the spectrum, 27 per cent of organisations allow staff to run any apps they like on their devices for work purposes. No MDM solution is perfect, but completely uncontrolled apps can lead to data leakage and security issues.

what about Miraki?
I wouldn’t feel right having work monitor what I do on my phone, I don’t want someone judging everything I do in my own time.
Don’t do anything you wouldn’t want your work to see on a device YOU have chosen to use for work purposes…
