iiNet and Adam Internet have announced a facelift to their Fetch service which includes access to new channels such as Disney and the sports related ESPN which includes NBA, NFL, NASCAR, Poker and Major League Baseball.
The revamped iiNet TV with Fetch Entertainment Plus package includes access to the Disney Channel, Disney Junior, ESPN and ESPN2 in addition to the existing Fetch content via HLS (HTTP Live Streaming) technology.
“iiNet’s deployment of HLS extends coverage to customers on ADSL, ADSL2+, fibre, and for the first time, the NBN,” iiNet’s chief product officer Stephen Harley said. “Previously, the full iiNet TV with Fetch service, via IP Multicast, was available to about two thirds of our customers.”
The Entertainment Plus package will replace iiNet’s existing Entertainment package for all new customers. Existing customers can either stick to their current service or upgrade to Entertainment Plus with their bill changing accordingly. When added to the basic iiNet TV service the Entertainment Plus package costs an additional $19.95 per month for a monthly total of $29.95. (The package is included at no extra charge in iiNet’s $99 TV Combo.) Internode customers meanwhile, will get access to the new channels from August.
Rival ISP Adam Internet is also expanding its Fetch TV service. Existing customers will be given a free trial of the new premium channels: ESPN, ESPN2, Disney Channel and Disney Junior.
“ESPN covers a wide range of world sporting events, while the Disney Channels’ family orientated programming is a perfect fit with the school holidays now underway,” Adam Internet’s founder Greg Hicks said.
The four new channels will be offered to Adam Internet customers free of charge until the end of July.

One response to “iiNet and Adam Internet Revamp Fetch Service”
still not getting it.
I have a media center and I’m not getting another dam device
and adding sports channels and kiddy ones will not make me more interested.
I purchase a set top box and internet TV service from iiNet on the 25th September 2013.
I received the box and connected it to my AV system via the supplied HDMI cable.
I found that my existing HDMI audio visual components stopped working as soon as I connected the iinet Fetch TV set top box. I no longer had a connection to the Pioneer AV receiver consequently lost sound and to the existing Blu-ray player a Sony PS3. I reported this problem immediately to iiNet but there is no fix other than to connect via the analog component cable so you have to live with a lower quality picture and sound.
My internet connection has become unstable and very slow.
The Fetch TV reception over the internet is very poor and often the picture is of such poor quality you cannot watch it
The Fetch TV set top box constantly loses its internet connection
The service costs me approximately $30 per month.
I wish to cancel this service and return the Fetch TV set top box at no further cost to me as this service is not fit for purpose
The cancellation fee is $400 totally outrageous, I refuse to pay this fee for a product that does not work
